How is age calculated?
Age in years is the difference between the current year and your birth year, minus one if your birthday has not happened yet this year. Someone born on June 15, 1990 is 35 on June 14, 2026 and turns 36 the next day. The remaining months and days are counted from your last birthday by adding whole calendar months first, then the leftover days.
Why months are not always 30 days
Calendar months run from 28 to 31 days, so a month in an age result means a full calendar month, not 30 days. That is why dividing your total days by 30 gives a slightly different number than the years, months and days breakdown.
Born on February 29
In years without a February 29, the calculator counts your birthday on February 28. Legal rules differ: some jurisdictions treat March 1 as the birthday for age-related laws, so check the rule that applies to you when the exact day matters.
